Kinky hair is notoriously known for being more challenging but with the proper tools it is by far the show stopping when nurtured.
Moisture
Kinky hair has the tightest curls of all 4 types. When our hair makes natural oils, the straighter the strands the easier the oil can pass down the shaft. Since Kinky has the tightest curls or all, oil hardly ever makes it to the end. So this makes moisture a big deal. So creams and conditioning are a must.
What’s a great moisturizer? Eden All Natural Curl Defining Cream
How should I apply moisture? LOC or LCO Method
Curl Definition
Curl definition is almost an impossibility with Kinky hair but it can be achieved with the correct styling method as well as the proper holding product. Since the curls are more individualized, getting them to cluster isn’t going to happen without product.
A woman in an office I frequent has nailed this hair style. I’d like to compliment her on her beautiful hair, the obvious work she puts into her style, and how well it compliments her natural good looks. However I’m an older white male. I don’t mean her to think I’m hitting on her, I’m honestly not. I just think what she has chosen to do with her hair is beautiful and very cool.
Is there any way I can give this young woman an honest compliment without coming across as creepy? Or even worse…
Thanks in advance for your kind council.

Absolutely! The best way to give a natural a compliment is by mentioning she is natural. “I love your natural hair” “I think your hair is incredible”
Either of those should work just fine.
