Curls and Fitness

Have you ever avoided a full workout because of your hairstyle? Or have you ever found yourself dreading the post workout hair mane? I know I use too. Before being natural I would do all I could to make sure my perm or extremely flat ironed hair stayed flat. Now that I am natural this never crosses my mind. Curls and Fitness go together like sand and surf, like bread and butter, like pen and paper.

Do you get a ton of frizz from working out? – thick creams or heavy custards

Want your curls to remain stretched with no scrunch? – wear a pineapple

Don’t want your curls to dry out? – add additional oil before your workout to seal moisture

My Personal Experience

Since I decided to live a healthier lifestyle, I never took into account how my hair would change from it. I have 3b/3c hair (4a at my crown) and I sweat up a storm somedays. Since my hair has high porosity, every time I sweat it sticks to me. I would have undefined and loose curls in the back of my head and really defined well creamed hair in the front. I combat this by wrapping my hair into a pineapple. This will allow very little hair contact with my neck and I can easily refresh my back curls with water and a hair lotion. I workout 6-7 days a week and 3 of those days are at King Cat Fitness in boot camp sessions. So trust me when I say I know a thing or two about Curls and Fitness.
