A video has been floating around of a revolutionary product that has been the same for easily 50 years. So of course I had to investigate.
What is a slap?
Slap is the acronym for Satin Lined Claps
Where did they come from?
It was inspired from a young woman’s trip to Africa in 2012 and ever since the familiarity has completely taken the natural hair world by storm.
What does it look like? a beanie/shower cap with a satin interior
Most satin caps are a hundred percent set in and resemble a shower cap. However The Slap has a cotton exterior looks similar to a hat or hair wrap with a satin interior.
How much does it cost?
$29.95
Is it worth it?
The verdict so far is 75/25 on the positive side.
What are the pros and cons?
- Pros: Works better than the traditional cap, more visually appealing, fairly priced for material used.
- Cons: If your hair is wet or uber moisturized, it will bleed onto your sheets or pillows. If you have fine hair it slides a bit more than you want. It is baggy on short hair.
Where can I buy one? Two places that I know of sell them.
